Amelia Elise was born on December 22, 2009 at 9:56am. She weighed in at 7 pounds, 11 3/4 ounces and 19.5 inches long.

One Year
Posted by The Mama on 12/22 at 09:58 PMOur baby celebrated her first birthday today. It has been an awesome year watching her grow. We celebrated on Saturday with family and friends in a Winter “One"derland. She enjoyed watching her cousins open her gifts, eating her chocolate cake, and bouncing around in her cute little tutu. Today, I took the day off to spend with her. We slept in late, played all morning, took a nap, went to eat at Life is Sweet cafe with Daddy, grocery shopping, back home to play some more, and then finished the day by eating chicken and dumplings and peas! She sure enjoyed her day and it was so much fun to spend it with her. Happy Birthday to our sweet little angel. Now Christmas awaits…
A Little Update
Posted by The Mama on 11/17 at 10:25 PMSince our last post, much has happened! Let’s see, let’s see. Amelia said her first word (other than momma and dadda) on October 13th. She was so excited to meet her new baby cousin, Lucky, that she said “baby.” It was incredibly sweet and shocked us all.
Amelia now really, really crawls, pulls up on everything and cruises around. She is very curious and loves discovering new things. 
As of this week, she’s even been standing alone for several seconds.
We call Amelia our dancing queen, as she loves to move to the beat of the music. Her favorite is the theme music to the show Psyche.
We just finished family photos this month and are now planning Amelia’s first birthday party! I can’t believe it’s right around the corner…
She’s Crawling!
Posted by The Mama on 10/06 at 06:43 AMYesterday, October 5th, was a big day for Amelia. The morning started with Chris needing to give her a bottle at work while I was gone. He wondered if she’d hold it on her own, so decided to try it out. Yep! Amelia fed herself the bottle. Daddy was quite happy.
Later that evening, we visited my parents. As we were talking in the living room, all of a sudden Amelia started moving toward something. Mom and I noticed at the same time and weren’t even quite sure it was crawling, as I think it shocked us. So, we started enticing her with a cell phone on the floor. She crawled right to it time and time again! OH MY! What a shock, as it just happened so quickly. (For those of you who don’t know, Amelia got around just fine previously, but by scooting. Now she’s off to crawling!)
All in a day in the life of our baby girl…
